Sandbridge is a community full of interesting people and this past week I was lucky enough to get to know two long time residents, Kay and Lee Carey. They were gracious to allow me to video tape as I asked Lee questions about life in Sandbridge.
Please enjoy this video interview with Lee Carey! If you or someone you know would like to be a part of our exciting new video blog series “Interview with a Local” please email kaycee@happykayceeproductions for more information.
Lee Carey was raised on a farm at Stumpy Lake and after serving in the Army, completing two years at TCC and selling his family business he moved to Sandbridge. Lee began writing novels in 1999 and since has written a few Mystery/Crime novels, several in the Young Adult/Crossover genre including the popular Gabby….All About Me and Pets in Paradise.
Lee is currently working on a sequel to the “Gabby” novel after receiving many requests from his fans and readers across the country. Over the past decade, Lee has written 15 short stories, most of them being set here in Sandbridge.
Two of Lee’s pet novels are available for purchase locally at Margie & Ray’s Seafood Restaurant, Sandbridge Raw Bar and Bay Breeze Produce (seasonal). Also, his writings are conveniently available on Amazon Kindle and his short stories are available on his website.
Lee shares his life with his loving wife, Kay, who is also his editor and their dog, Angel, that they adopted from the SPCA after Gabby passed.
Lee says, “Sandbridge Beach is the perfect place for a writer to relax and pen novels with an editor that he loves. In fact, there’s no better place…anywhere. Keep smilin’…”
