UPDATES are in blue and italicized:

Earlier this week tragedy hit the Sandbridge community.  16 year old resident James Normile lost his life in a car accident that left the rest of his family in the hospital.  A year ago in May the same family endured the hardship of losing their youngest son, Charlie, who drowned in the family swimming pool.  The Normile family was responsible for putting together Charlie’s Turkey Trot last Thanksgiving in Sandbridge in memory of their 2 year old son.

Almost immediately after the news of the car wreck broke on Tuesday, members of our community joined together to plan memorials and fundraisers for the family.  The same day of the accident students at Kellam HS held a candlelight vigil to remember their friend and fellow student.  A facebook page was made to remember James.

Several groups, friends and other community members have established memorials and fundraisers in support of the Normile’s.  Here is a master list of all of the events we are aware of to this point:

April 21-22 8 am – 6pm:  Cullipher Farm Market (All Locations)
All locations will be donating 10% of proceeds to help the Normile family during their time of need.

April 21 at 5pm:  Sandbridge Market
Paddle Out in Memory of James Normile.  Unfortunately, there will be no aerial photos of the paddle out due to the unavailability of the helicopter.

April 21 at 7pm:  Baja Restaurant
Baja Casino Night.  Ticket proceeds to benefit the Normile family.  Donations in lieu of Casino Night tickets also accepted.
