There’s so much going on in Sandbridge this weekend we thought you may need your Weekend Events List a day early…
Saturday morning your neighbors will be meeting for the monthly Sandbridge Civic League Meeting at the Sandbridge Community Chapel. Featured Speakers are Representative Scott Rigell and Delegate Barry Knight.
Baja Casino Night will be the hotspot on Saturday evening. After the loss of 16 year old Sandbridge resident James Normile in a car wreck this week, Baja owner Jimmy Reeve has changed plans so that ticket proceeds go to the Normile family. The Baja will also be accepting donations for the Normile family in lieu of attending Casino Night.
A Paddle Out in Memory of James Normile is scheduled for 5pm on Saturday evening at the Sandbridge Market.
If you want to get away from the sights and sounds of the city you’ll enjoy Night Eyes and Night Skies at False Cape State Park. Reservations are required so be sure to call 426-7128 to sign up.
Sunday you can celebrate Earth Day by taking a hands-on approach at False Cape. From 9am-noon you can do your part by cleaning up shoreline debris throughout the park at the Earth Day Beach Cleanup.
There is an afternoon kayak paddle at False Cape that begins at 2pm. Reservations are required. Call 426-7128 to sign up. The cost is $20/person and equipment is provided.
Join in the fun of the SUP/Canoe/Kayak from Surf & Adventure to Blue Pete’s Restaurant Sunday at 2pm. This event is open to all paddlers and is free. If you need to rent equipment or gear stop by Surf and Adventure and ask about their specials for this event.
