Wow!  Sandbridge is such a supportive community!  This weekend’s event list is once again full of fundraisers for the Normile Family.  Also on the agenda is the Baja Restaurant’s Cinco de Mayo celebration and some fun outdoor activities at False Cape State Park.

Bake sale at Little Island Park for James Normile
Saturday morning stop by Little Island Park and pick up donuts, muffins and pastries at the Bake Sale in support of the Normile Family.  

James Normile 1 Mile Memorial Run/Walk
Lace up your tennis shoes and join community members at Kellam High School for a 1 Mile Memorial Run/Walk in Memory of James Normile.  The race is open to all age groups.  Strollers are permitted, but pets are not.  $15 to sign up.

There will be a bake sale beginning at noon with proceeds going to the Normile’s.  Cakes, pies, cookies and more!

Cinco de Mayo
Recipe for an excellent Cinco de Mayo?  Good food, good music and great friends!  The Baja’s Cinco de Mayo party will have all of these and definitely be the place to be Saturday evening.  The Billy Joel Trio Band takes the stage at 9pm.

Finding Your Way at False Cape State Park
Learn how to use a compass and find your way through nature using a GPS device.  The cost is $10/person. Reservations are required. Call (757) 426-7128 for reservations.

Moonlight Paddle at False Cape
Paddle by moonlight and listen to the night sounds as nocturnal wildlife emerges. Kayak equipment is provided; no paddling experience is necessary. Reservations are required. Call (757) 426-7128 to sign up.
Cost: $20/person

Other notes of importance:
If you would like to purchase a t-shirt or sticker to support the Normile’s visit  The site is run by students at Kellam High School where James attended.  100% of the proceeds to directly to the Normile Family.

Also, if you have taken any photos of any fundraiser for the Normile’s please take copies to Beach Scrapbooks (located in Red Mill Commons) to help them make a scrapbook in memory of James.  They are trying to put together something nice for the family, but need photos from the various fundraising events.
