This snowy, cold weather we have experienced this past week and are expecting to blow through Sandbridge again this week makes it a little difficult to think about getting in a swimming pool, but if you bear with us for a few minutes, we need to let you know about some upcoming lifeguard classes that your kids might want to take to prepare for the summer season if they plan on getting a lifeguard job this summer.
The Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation Department hires lifeguards at age 16 and above, but they provide Junior Lifeguard training programs for children aged 10 and up. These training programs are offered at various Rec Centers throughout Virginia Beach during the months of February, March & April. Some of the courses include Junior Lifeguard (Ages 10-14), Lifeguard Training (Ages 15 & Up) as well as a Review Course and an Instructor Course.
