The 17th Annual Baja Surf Classic got off to a rainy start, but by early afternoon the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day to be on the beach. For the first time in several years there was no entry fee for the contest and every division was at capacity. This year’s Surf Classic benefited the Lance Armstrong Foundation and The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Money and prizes were donated by local businesses.
Surfers ripped through the choppy waves from 8 am until around 4 pm and afterwards were treated to a party and awards at the Baja Restaurant. Sandbridge Life photographers were out on the sand taking photos of the contest from 11 am until the surfing ended.
