Sandbridge Life is excited to welcome a new member to the team.

Holly Tower is our newest contributor and will be sharing pieces that highlight the unique and rich environment, history, happenings, and residents that converge here in the lovely community that we are blessed to share.

Currently, Holly is a Reading Specialist for the Virginia Beach City Public School system. Previously she served as an Assistant Professor in Elementary Education at a small college in Idaho, and a teacher and Reading Specialist in Central Virginia. She attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate and continued on to earn a Ph.D. in Reading Education.

With a passion for this community and it’s unparalleled environment and recreational resources, Holly combines her educational experience and interests in her several volunteer positions. You may meet her as she drives the Blue Goose for the Back Bay Foundation in the summer, taking visitors on a guided tour through the Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park highlighting the fascinating wildlife and history of this local gem. She also serves as a docent on whale and dolphin watching cruises with the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center and is a member of the Stranding Response Team. This team responds to strandings of marine animals and works to rehabilitate them for release.

We’re looking forward to Holly joining us and sharing her unique perspective and experiences of all that there is to enjoy here in Sandbridge.
