It’s the 4th of July and all of us at SandbridgeLife.com would like to wish you & yours the happiest Independence Day!
Another big annual Sandbridge event was just posted on our calendar – the 2013 Baja Surf Classic will be held on September 29th at Little Island Park.
On September 7 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sandbridge Beach locals and visitors will mingle at Little Island Park for Sandbridge’s 34th Annual Pig Picking! This event is one of the main fundraisers for the Volunteer Rescue Squad and the most anticipated event of the year for our locals.
Between the hours of 2 – 7 pm the Sandbridge Beach Civic League will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Sandbridge Beach Volunteer Rescue Station. For more information call Fred Greene at 288-0372.
Sandbridge Beach was jam-packed over the weekend with locals and visitors celebrating the 4th of July. Thursday evening the Mill Pond and nearby canals were overtaken by the “Pirates of Back Bay and Adjacent Waters” as they paraded through the community for the 10th Annual Boat Parade just before the 2nd Annual professional fireworks display began.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday with their friends, family and neighbors. We’ll be sharing photos and video footage of the boat parade
and fireworks display with you this weekend. Be safe and have a great one!
Virginia Beach has been named the #2 Best Place in the US to Raise a Family by Best Life Magazine!
Chris Reckling from The Hampton Roads Show recently made a trip out to Sandbridge to interview A Dolphin’s Promise founder Cindy Graf and other community members who participated in the Lanterns of Love event on June 15 for his segment “Reck on the Road.”
As of June 20, $8,000 of the $14,000 required to put on the fireworks display has been raised. For information on how to donate to the fireworks fund, please click here: http://sandbridgelife.com/archives/2372.
