Marshall E. Belanga, Sr.
March 31, 1937 – March 12, 2017
Marshall E. Belanga, Sr. 79, passed away Sunday March 12, 2017. Born in Princess Anne County to the late Luther and Melissa Ballance Belanga, he was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Luther, Jesse,and Marvin “Peanut” Belanga and half-sister Pearl Yocum. A commercial fisherman by trade, he was the happiest spending time in his shop, working with his tractor, and sharing local lore and history with visitors.
He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Sandra Belanga; a son, Marshall “Eddie” Belanga Jr. and his wife Mary; daughter, Merrilee Gumm and her husband Jeff; granddaughters, Shannon and Kiley Belanga, Jordan Howell, and Rosie Gumm; nephew, Michael Belanga; and many special friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, March 17th, 2017 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church at 2 pm.
