It’s been a tough year for high school seniors who have been out of the classroom most of the year.
How about $2,000, $1,500, $1,000 or $500 towards college? That’s what is being awarded by the Sandbridge Beach Civic League this year.
Here’s the deal: High school seniors must be entering college, university, technical or trade school full-time next year. The applicant’s family must be paid-up members of the Sandbridge Beach Civic League, and the student and family must be full-time residents of Sandbridge. Also important: The application is due May 20.
The application is available here or on the school website: www.vbschools.com / students / Scholarship Central / Search for scholarship – just enter “Sandbridge.”
The packet must include the official application, an academic resume (details are in the application form), two letters of reference (one from a teacher or counselor, one from a Sandbridge neighbor or friend), an official transcript, and a 400-600 word essay: “How did living in Sandbridge help you get through this last year of virtual learning?” Packets can be delivered to Mike Maloney at 304 Teal Crescent. Once again, the deadline is Thursday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m.
