Sandbridge Fall Cleanup: 36 Years of Community Tradition
The Sandbridge Fall Cleanup Event is almost here, and we're so excited! Save the date—October 6, 2024. Join your neighbors, friends, and community to give back to the beautiful Sandbridge neighborhood we all love.
Event History & Details
Twice a year, in the spring and fall, residents and volunteers gather to help keep our neighborhood pristine.
The Sandbridge Fall Cleanup Event started in 1988 with Molly Brown and Cheryl Petticrew. These ladies dedicated many years to organizing this event, which has become a cherished community tradition. Over the years, the torch has been passed down. Currently, the event is led by Joe Kindley and Pat Barton, with support from their sons, Bane Barton and Reed Kindley. The 2024 Sandbridge Fall Cleanup Event will continue this tradition of community involvement and care for our surroundings.
This year’s Sandbridge Fall Cleanup Event, sponsored by the Sandbridge Civic League, kicks off at 1:00 PM at Little Island Park and wraps up around 4:00 PM. It's a family-friendly event that brings everyone together in the spirit of community and volunteerism.
Volunteers will meet at Little Island Park at 1:00 PM. Upon arrival, volunteers will have an opportunity to connect with their friends, neighbors, and fellow community members. They will then receive a map detailing their assigned section of Sandbridge to clean. Typically, volunteers will dispose of the trash they collect in the city bins or tie off trash bags and leave them by the city cans, where our dedicated crew will pick them up for proper disposal.
