Sandbridge is a community full of interesting people and this past week I was lucky enough to get to know two long time residents, Kay and Lee Carey. They were gracious to allow me to video tape as I asked Lee questions about life in Sandbridge.
During the summer of 2011, 15 year old Pennsylvania native Natasha Harkey was on vacation with her family in Sandbridge when she heard a boy screaming for help. The quick thinking teenager who was a YMCA Swim Team Member quickly swam over to the boy and helped him out of the rip current and got him onto the shore.
On New Year’s Day as locals Anne & Bill Gassett were out on their morning beach walk when a Sandbridge visitor alerted them of a stranded green sea turtle.

Come join us as we “Trot” our way through Sandbridge in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation on November 24th. Bring your whole family! There will be a 1 mile fun run, 5K, and a Little Turkey Gobble Wobble. The event will take place on Thanksgiving Day at Little Island Park with registration beginning at 8am.
The Second Annual Double Clutch Fishing Tournament was held on September 24 at the Baja Restaurant. This fundraising event benefited the Bob Aaron Memorial Scholarship. With live music from local band IDGB, delicious BBQ served, a silent auction and a beach party hosted by the Baja it was a day full of fishing, friends and fun!
